But how can you use this platform to grow your business? Continue reading to learn how to start using LinkedIn automation messaging to gain more leads and increase sales.

What is LinkedIn Automation Messaging?

LinkedIn Automation Messaging

The time it takes to write and send personalized messages to all of your contacts, at the right time, is a full-time job in itself. This is why LinkedIn automation message has become an industry norm. In fact, 80% of LinkedIn users say they’ve seen an increase in leads due to their marketing automation tools.

The LinkedIn platform is a great opportunity for automation tools. These tools help professionals spend less time on tedious tasks and more time with their target demographic. LinkedIn message automation is one of those tools.

Like any automation, you need to be careful not to come off spammy. LinkedIn, in particular, has processes in place to flag accounts that may look like spam accounts. However, there are ways around this.

If you want to produce leads through LinkedIn automation messaging, there are two ways you can go about it.

Extension Tools

In order to send out these automated messages, you’ll need a tool to help you write the message and send it out to multiple people at one time. There are two different methods for these types of tools.

Browser-Based

Browser extension tools are downloaded from your preferred browser’s app store. These extensions are essentially LinkedIn plugins that will help you create and organize your automated messages.

It’s important to note that browser extension tools rely on caching. Also, some of these browser-based tools use different IP addresses each time it runs. These two factors make these tools more easily detectable by LinkedIn. If LinkedIn notices this, they could flag your account as a spam account and delete it altogether.

Another downside of these browser extension tools is that they don’t run 24/7. They only run when your browser is open. Unless you keep your computer on all day and night, you won’t be able to send your automation at certain times.

With all of this in mind, there are still some browser extension tools that don’t run on cache or with different IP addresses. Do your research to find one that works for you!

Cloud-Based

Unlike browser-based tools, cloud-based tools don’t run on different IP addresses or rely on caching. A cloud-based tool directly integrates with your LinkedIn profile and uses your own detected IP address. This helps it fly under the radar and not come off as spam to LinkedIn.

Cloud-based tools tend to also have a variety of personalization tools embedded in their apps. This makes it easier for you to customize your message to your target demographic. You can also utilize their customer service, resources, and other features to help grow your business.

All of these features do come at a cost. However, if you’re able to generate more sales, it may be worth the return on investment.

LinkedIn Automation Messaging Best Practices

Now that you have the tools to help you send your message, you need to craft the right message and send it to the right people.

Target Demographic

Target Demographic - LinkedIn Automation Messaging

You can have the perfect message ready to go, but if you’re sending it to the wrong person, it doesn’t matter what you wrote. Finding your target demographic on LinkedIn is extremely important, especially in cold-emailing.

The first thing you’ll need to do is build a list of people who will relate to your message. Doing this by hand is time-consuming and overwhelming. Try using a tool that can help you narrow down this list by job title, keywords, company name, and more.

Once you have your list, you’re ready to craft your message.

Crafting Your Message

Words are powerful. Your message is where you can showcase the need for your product and/or service. Nowadays, first and last name personalization isn’t enough. You want to be sure you’re personalizing the message as much as possible so it doesn’t come off as spam.

Try using a tool that will help you craft the perfect message with dynamic content. Dynamic content is a placeholder that your tool can use to pull in information from your recipient’s own LinkedIn profile. Without this dynamic content, your message will look just like any other robot cold email.

Prepping For Outreach

Not only do you have to sound professional in your email, but your profile also needs to look professional as well. Be sure to optimize your LinkedIn page before sending out your first automated message.

Prepping For Outreach - LinkedIn Automation Messaging

If you’re looking to generate leads, nine times out of ten, they will take a look at your profile before responding back to you. If they see an empty profile with hardly any personal information, you’ll never hear a response.

Be sure your profile has a tagline, a photo, a headline, and your experience information. You also want to make sure everything is updated and relative to the message you’re sending them.

It’s also important to manage your connections. If you don’t have many connections on LinkedIn, it might be better to raise that before starting your outreach. Start by sending out a connection request to people in your own field and expand from there.

Analytics

Finally, you’ll want to be sure your outreach is actually working. Keep an eye on your campaign results and how many leads you’re generating. If you notice you’re not doing too well, you may need to tweak your approach.

Remember, automation messaging has been proven to produce leads. Try testing out different messages, timeframes, personalization, and more to make it work for you.
